- How can I view a stock attribute (e.g. 30 day moving average...) that is not listed in the templates?
For templates such as 'Watch List', 'Volume Leaders', 'Gainers' and 'Losers', you can view a stock attribute that is not listed using following:
- Select a cell containing the header description of the attribute.
- A drop down icon will appear to the right of the selected cell.
- Click the drop down icon. This will display a list of all the supported eTikr attributes.
- Select the attribute you're interested in by clicking it. The data for this attribute will be automatically rendered in the attribute column.

- For 'Watch List' and 'Portfolio', you can add/remove attribute columns using their repective 'Edit' options from eTikr toolbar menu..
- How do I add a symbol to the Watchlist?
You can add a symbol to the Watchlist using following:
- Type the symbol in the text box next to the 'Symbol:' on the eTikr Toolbar.
- Either Press <Tab> or <Enter< key and then click 'Add' button next to the text box.
- The symbol will be added to the end of the Watchlist.

- How do I lookup a symbol?
You can lookup and add one or more symbols to the Watchlist using following:
- Click on the 'Symbol Lookup' button on the eTikr Toolbar.
- A search dialog will open up. Select Type of Exchange, enter a search pattern for the Symbol and click 'Search' icon.
- All the matching symbols will appear in the bottom list box. Check the ones which needs to be added to the Watchlist.
- Click 'Add' button. The search dialog will be closed and the symbols will be added to the end of the Watchlist.

- How do I get detailed quote on a stock?
You can get detailed quote on a stock by clicking the link on the Symbol. The current worksheet will be switched to the 'Details' view where the details of the stock can be seen.

- How do I log a new stock transaction in portfolio?
You can log a new stock transaction in portfolio using following:
- Click the 'New Portfolio Entry...' submenu under 'Portfolio' menu on the eTikr Toolbar. This will open up a 'Creation Transaction' dialog.
- Select the portfolio sheet from the drop down under which you wish to log the stock transaction.
- Select appropriate transaction type and enter details as per the selected transaction type.
- Click 'Apply' or 'Apply & Create New' button. The new transaction will be logged in the selected Porfolio view.

- How do I look at history of transactions?
eTikr maintains a history sheet for each Portfolio that is created from Portfolio menu. E.g. if the name of Portfolio is 'NYSE Portfolio', then eTikr maintains a history sheet with the name 'NYSE Portfolio-History' next to it. This history view has a history of all the transactions logged in so far for the attached portfolio. Click here to see a graphical demo.

- Which markets are covered by eTikr?
eTikr supports data from following markets,
- All major American exchanges.
- American mutual funds.
- Pinksheet and OTCBB listed securities.
- Options.
- Canadian exchanges.
- Can I use eTikr to get data from other international markets besides the ones listed above (like BSE, NSE, LSE, ASX...)?
Current version of eTikr can not be configured by user to incorporate data feed from other exchanges. We plan to incorporate international markets in eTikr in future. Please check back periodically to see the markets covered by eTikr.
- How much does eTikr cost?
eTikr is a free application; there is no charge for using eTikr application or service.
- Is eTikr a spyware program?
Absolutely not, eTikr works without installing any spyware or adware. Also check our Privacy page to further review our detailed policy about protecting your privacy.
- Will eTikr transfer my private data to another server?
Absolutely not, Unlike other websites that let you create stock watch lists and portfolios, eTikr keeps your private data on you computer and does not transfer it to any other machines. eTikr can do so because it is an application on your machine and not a website.
- Why is eTikr an Excel application?
There are several benefits of using Excel to track your portfolios and stocks,
- No Learning Required: Excel is one of the most commonly used tool on PC, you can manipulate eTikr worksheets just like any other Excel worksheet, if you know how to use Excel, you already know how to use eTikr.
- Data Privacy: Data saved in Excel worksheets is your private data; it stays on your computer. This is not true for the websites offering similar services; they have full access to your private data.
- Always Current Data: Data that you see in eTikr is always current, unlike a web browser, eTikr can update the data in step with changes in market without constantly hitting the reload button on the browser.

- Can I use all functions of Excel in eTikr templates?
Yes.
- How often does eTikr update the live data?
This is entirely up to you, you can configure eTikr at intervals that works best for you.
- What are the minimum system requirements to install eTikr?
To run this application, your PC needs to have at least:
- Windows Vista, Windows XP (Home or Professional) or Windows 2000.
- Excel version 2000 or higher.
- Processor Speed Intel PIII 733MHz.
- Memory 256MB RAM.
- 25 MB of Free Disk Space.
- Internet Connectivity.
- Can I run eTikr on mobile devices?

- How private is eTikr?
Data you enter in eTikr is completely private, it stays on your computer and never leaves it.
- Will eTikr work from behind my firewall?
eTikr works exactly like a web browser to fetch data, if you can browse web browsing, you can use eTikr without any changes in configuration.
- What stock/exchange attributes are supported by eTikr?
Attributes are nothing but custom Excel formulas supported by eTikr. These attributes can be used anywhere in the Excel Worksheet having eTikr.

- I saw this stock in 'Gainers' view, can I move this to my Watchlist?
You can move the stock listed in top-ten lists such as 'Volume Leaders', 'Gainers' and 'Losers' lists by clicking 'To Watch List...' link in the same row under 'Add' column. The current view will be switched to the 'Watch List' view and the symbol will be added at the end of the Watchlist.

- Can I rename worksheets?
Yes, you can certainly rename the worksheets, even though it is not recommended for clarity purposes. To rename Watch Lists and Portfolios, you can use 'Edit' option in their repective menus in eTikr Toolbar.
- I deleted 'Details' sheet, now I cannot get detailed quotes.
If you've deleted any of the pre-defined eTikr templates such as 'Volume Leaders', 'Gainers', 'Losers', 'Details' and 'Exchange Stats', currently there is no way to recover them. But you can create multiple Watch Lists and Portfolios without any limitation.
- How can I trust the authenticity of the downloaded eTikr Setup?
The eTikr Setup application is digitally signed by Thawte, Inc.. You can always verify the authenticity of the certificate by viewing the details of that certificate before proceeding with the setup.
- Privacy statement on use of mobile and email information
Email addresses and Mobile information collected for alert notifications is used only for alert notification. This information is not stored on our servers after alerts have been dismissed.
- How do I uninstall eTikr?
eTikr can be uninstalled in the following two ways:
- Click on Start->Programs->eTikr->Uninstall eTikr. Un-installation will start after asking for confirmation.
OR
- Go to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel and select "eTikr" and click on "Remove" to uninstall eTikr from your system.
